GW2 Market is a one-person project: an archive of Trading Post prices, plus tools that answer the questions a wiki cannot — because a wiki does not know what your account already has.

Where the numbers come from

The official Guild Wars 2 API publishes the order book as it stands right now and nothing else: no yesterday, no last month. Every site with price history keeps its own archive and none of them share it, so this one keeps its own. A collector reads all tradeable items once an hour and writes the result to a database that never gets thinned out.

One consequence is worth saying plainly: order depth is not turnover. A thousand units listed can sit there for months. Until enough history has piled up to measure how fast things actually sell, the flip lists are candidates rather than advice.

Three languages, one dataset

Prices need no translation, so the interface comes in English, Ukrainian and Russian while the data stays identical. The game has never shipped in Ukrainian or Russian and the official API does not offer them either, so item names stay in English — which is also how they appear in your client.
