The Festival of the Four Winds is running now
Balloons in the capitals carry you to the Zephyrites on the Labyrinthine Cliffs, and the Crown Pavilion in Divinity’s Reach is open for fighting. Taking part pays out a new Cloud Pteruges leg skin, Spellwork weapons, a Plush Kralky Backpack and homestead decoration recipes, with Wizard’s Vault objectives adding Astral Acclaim on top. While it runs, selected Zephyrite items in the gem store are 20% off.

WvW scoring: what the second beta changed
The competitive team is moving score away from passively holding objectives and toward what players do: sieging, capturing and killing. The second beta added placement-based match rewards and points for upgrading objectives, and after complaints that defending paid too little in the first beta, defence was made worth more.

Homestead design contest: entries opened
Screenshots went to the official Discord until 6 August, one entry per person of one to ten shots. Community voting ran to 11 August and winners were decided by the number of emoji reactions, with gems as prizes.

A homestead contest was announced for the following week
Homesteads arrived with Janthir Wilds, and the contest was set up to push what people build with them. No theme, either homestead map allowed, entries from 30 July, community vote, gems for the winners.

Summer sale: 30% off the expansions
Thirty per cent came off the expansions, the bundles, Living World Season 2 and the Starter Pack, from 25 June to 9 July. It ran in the online store, in game, on Steam and at retailers, with the Epic Games Store left out.

Guild Wars Reforged is on phones, sharing a world with the PC
It downloads free from the App Store and Google Play, and characters carry across PC and mobile at no cost and with nothing held back. Newcomers get the original Prophecies campaign free, funded by ads on loading screens that a single purchase removes.

ArenaNet is making Guild Wars 3
It is set in Orr, where you join the Vaelwardens, a guild sworn to protect the land and the people living outside its towns. For the first time the series goes beyond the PC to PlayStation 5, with combat built to work the same on a controller as on mouse and keyboard. Sign-ups are open; the beta is promised for autumn 2027.
