Code of Creation: the finale of Visions of Eternity
The last chapter of the newest expansion landed on 15 September 2026. Six story chapters, a new map, a ten-player raid, a fractal, and a paid supply drop: what is in it and what is worth your time.
On this page
The final chapter of Visions of Eternity went live on 15 September 2026. It closes out the expansion’s story and drops a full slice of endgame on top: a new map, a raid, a fractal and a three-hour meta. What arrived, and which parts are worth your evening, below.
The story: six chapters on Castora
The finale runs six story chapters that chase Vloxx into the depths of Castora. What looked like a routine Inquest operation (cold leadership, cruel experiments) turns out to be a cover: Vloxx was using the Inquest as tools while chasing something larger, and the newly crowned director Kuda is the other half of the knot you spend the chapters untangling.
We do not reprint the dialogue here (why). The short version: it is a resolution, not a cliffhanger, and it is the last chapter of the expansion. If you have been holding off on the earlier Visions of Eternity story to binge it, this is the point it becomes a complete arc.
The new map and its meta
Leyspring Hollows is the new zone, a cavernous expanse where the Stewards of Galdra, living remnants of an ancient society, help you through the finale.
Its meta-event is Depths of Cruelty, on a three-hour cycle. That length matters: a three-hour meta is not something you drop into on a whim like a fifteen-minute world boss, it is a scheduled event you show up for. Check the timers before you commit an evening to it.
Endgame: a raid and a fractal
Two pieces of group content came with the chapter.
Nexus of Eternity is a ten-player raid, the flagship encounter of the release. It also appears as a Convergence with reworked mechanics, so there are two ways to meet the same boss depending on how organised your group is.
Solitary Throne is a five-player fractal. If a ten-person raid is more coordination than you want, this is the smaller door into the same content, and fractals remain the one place agony resistance is the whole point of your gear.
The rollout calendar
Not everything landed at once, which is normal for a raid release:
- 15 September: story, map, meta, normal raid and fractal.
- 29 September: Challenge Modes for the new content.
- 13 October: the raid’s Legendary Mode.
So if you cleared the raid in week one and wondered where the harder version was, it was not late, because Challenge Modes are always a separate, later switch.
The Supply Drop: what it is and the honest maths
Alongside the chapter, the gem store got a Code of Creation Supply Drop, and it is worth reading carefully because it is paid: 2,400 gems, one per account, at a 20% discount.
For that you get four weekly shipments. The first arrives the moment you buy, the next three on the following Tuesdays:
- Week 1: a Requisition Team Contract Board, Heroic Boosters, Communal Boost Bonfires
- Week 2: a Dreamwalker Spear Skin, a Bag Slot Expansion, Black Lion Statuettes
- Week 3: an Outfit Voucher, an Elite Weapons Voucher, Dye Kits
- Week 4: an Enchanter’s Hat Package, Backpack and Glider Vouchers, Black Lion Chest Keys
Buy late and the first delivery back-pays every week you missed, so there is no penalty for waiting to decide.
Now the honest part. That is 2,400 gems, so check what that is in gold on the exchange before you reach for it. Everything in the drop is a booster, a cosmetic voucher or a convenience item; none of it makes your character stronger, exactly like the rest of the gem store. It is a fair deal if you were going to spend on boosters and a bag slot anyway. It is not a shortcut to anything, and the Black Lion Keys in week four are the same coin-flip they always are.
What it means for the game
Code of Creation is not just the end of a story. It is the end of an expansion: Visions of Eternity is done. ArenaNet has said that once it wraps, the studio turns to improving the foundations of Guild Wars 2 rather than starting the next expansion. So this is a good moment to catch up rather than a start line to sprint from: the content is here, it is not going anywhere, and the next big thing is polish rather than a new frontier.
Questions people ask
What do I need to play Code of Creation?
The Visions of Eternity expansion. This is its final chapter, not a standalone release, so the earlier chapters unlock it and it will not appear without the expansion on your account.
Is the Code of Creation Supply Drop worth buying?
It is 2,400 gems for four weeks of boosters, skins and vouchers. Convenience and cosmetics, nothing that makes you stronger, the same rule as the rest of the gem store. Worth it only if you would have bought those boosters anyway.
When do Challenge Modes and Legendary Mode open?
Challenge Modes for the new content arrive on 29 September 2026, and the raid's Legendary Mode follows on 13 October. The normal versions are playable now.
Does this conclude Visions of Eternity?
Yes. Code of Creation is the final chapter of the expansion. After it wraps, ArenaNet has said its focus moves to improving the foundations of Guild Wars 2 rather than to the next expansion.
